In case you haven’t seen it in the Twittersphere, here’s the link to the article I wrote about the new(ish) St. George Spirits gins. All the great people at St. George have been so generous in expressing their appreciation for my article, but it’s really their genius and artistry that I want to continue to shine the light on. Definitely read the article and try the gins!
That said, I had a wonderful time at the SF Cocktail Week Bathtub Gin Party at St. George and really felt honored to meet Dave Smith and Ellie & Lance Winters for the first time. They’re so genuine and really embraced me as part of their family. They even let me take a little bath with them — what’s a little shared bath time among friends?

Dave had a bottle of his baby, the brand new Breaking & Entering Bourbon, to pour and share with everyone at the party. Lance also pulled me aside to tell me that he sees distilling like professing your love to a girl. You’re taking a risk and putting yourself out there. She can either return your love or she can not be that into you. You can never truly know what the outcome is gonna be until you just come out and say it. The fact that Dave and Lance have put out successful product after successful product, but still get nervous/proud/happy when people are trying their new products is just an indication that they continue to pour their hearts and souls into their craft.
